We understand how frightening it can be for parents and family members to hear their loved one has beendiagnosed with a heart complication, which is why we offer a plethora of resources to help alleviate anxiety. Our expert pediatric nurses and physicians review all treatment options with you, and our child life specialists assist families and patients before and after procedures.

We recognize that interactive patient care plays a significant role in making each child's experience as pleasant as possible. Coming soon to CHAM is the GetWellNetwork, a fully integrated system to keep you and your child connected to physicians, the Internet and friends. Accessing the GetWellNetwork through their hospital room television set and a handheld remote or wireless keyboard, patients can immediately offer feedback to administrators about their care, view information about their medications, complete patient surveys, alert a staff member if the room is too cool or warm, email friends, surf the Web (with parental guidance) and watch movies on demand. CHAM also houses the Family Learning Place, a resourceful on-site center where families can learn about specific diagnoses and access research materials. We realize that parental involvement and a supportive social network are critical to children's healthcare success, and we encourage family participation on all levels of treatment.
