Samuel Weinstein, MD
Director, Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery
Dr. Weinstein specializes in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery and is board certified in thoracic surgery. His areas of expertise include congenital heart surgery, adult congenital heart surgery, aortic valve-sparing root procedures, Fontan revision surgery, trachea surgery and hybrid procedures combining the techniques of interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery.
Dr. Weinstein is currently involved in a national study examining the use of anti-adhesion materials in cardiac surgery. His laboratory research explores the effects of cardiopulmonary bypass on cardiac function and lung disease. He is the author of over 60 publications and presentations. He serves on the board of directors of Heart Care International and has served in the field on several medical missions to Latin America.
