The Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center is one of only a few full service hospitals in the region devoted exclusively to children. We understand that children are not just small adults, and that they require unique care. The members of our exceptional, multi-disciplinary team use their specialized pediatric expertise to create a carefully managed, cutting edge treatment plan for each child.

Collaborative, cutting edge care

Our staff of world class, board certified physicians have specialties in a wide range of medical and surgical disciplines. We are particularly proud of our expertise in the area of hematology-oncology, which allows us to provide specialized treatment to children who with blood disorders and childhood cancer. Our doctors regularly expand upon their own expertise by collaborating with specialists in other divisions through multi-disciplinary groups that aim to provide a cohesive, comprehensive team approach to the care we give our patients. This communication between doctors within CHAM leads to greater convenience and quality of treatment for our patients, particularly those fragile patients who cannot be easily moved.

Pioneering treatment devoted exclusively to children

We are active in pioneering new treatments and techniques through ongoing clinical research that is often NIH-funded. A leading national center for childhood cancer research, Montefiore is currently developing several modalities of treatment, including a new form of chemotherapy that can be inhaled.

Because CHAM's facilities and experts are focused exclusively on children, our patients receive exceptional, specialized care. Our own expertise is enhanced even further by the state-of-the-art equipment we have at our disposal, such as our multi-million dollar Sleep Disorders Center, and the cutting edge pediatric cardiology center we are currently in the process of establishing.
